Requirements

• Active RN license (state-specific).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (correctional, ER, med-surg, or psych preferred).
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a secure environment and respond effectively in emergencies.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments for inmates with acute, chronic, and emergent health needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, immunizations, and triage sick-call requests.
• Coordinate and assist with provider visits, exams, and off-site appointments when needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization following established protocols.
• Monitor and manage chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, mental health).
• Maintain secure handling of medical equipment, medications, and controlled substances.
• Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with custody staff to ensure safety, compliance, and patient movement.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and self-care.
