Schedule

72 hours bi-weekly, Day shift: 6:45am-7:15pm, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Correctional Medicine is responsible for providing direct nursing care to assigned inmates/patients, ranging from adolescent to adult, under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in a correctional facility. The LPN may serve a population of 1,300 to 2,000 inmates/patients and is expected to deliver nursing services in accordance with the scope of the Licensed Practical Nurse license. This role upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned inmates/patients.
• Collaborate with registered nurses and physicians in the delivery of care.
• Adhere to nursing protocols applicable to the correctional healthcare setting.
• Monitor and document the health status of patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio (active license required).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
