Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift

Night shift, 3×12 hour shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, with a focus on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within eight hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient information for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and succinctly in medical records.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing patient education and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Oversee and support ancillary nursing personnel through direction and training.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to unit functionality, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage and report supply and equipment needs to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
  • Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Current BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific to designated location).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
