Med / Surg RN Job Details

• Contract Duration : 13 weeks
• Shift : 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week : 36
• Openings : 3 Med / Surg RN positions available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Ohio or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification - required before first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification - required before first shift
• Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience as a Med / Surg RN
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process : assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR system
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the time of admission
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
• Supervise and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Promote a culture of patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols
• Contribute to team building and maintain a supportive work environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education for nursing professionals
