As part of our advanced Level One Trauma Center, our Critical Care Step-Down Unit is equipped with cutting-edge technology and a passionate team focused on improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare disparities.

Position Details

• Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00
• Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends and holidays

Unit Overview

Our Critical Care Step Down Unit offers a collaborative environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1, providing care for patients with conditions such as:

• Congestive Heart Failure
• COPD
• DKA
• Sepsis

Key Skills to Learn and Utilize

• EKG interpretation
• Central Line care
• Rescue Bi-pap, High Flow Oxygen, Trach/Vents
• Assisting with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies)
• Critical thinking, delegation, and time management

Collaborative Care Team

• Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs)
• Nurse Interns
• Providers
• Physical Therapy (PT)
• Occupational Therapy (OT)

Our unit comprises 14 beds, allowing us to focus on personalized care for each patient.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a program seeking accreditation
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification or to be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current ACLS certification or to be obtained within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
