Ohio University's Regional Campuses are located in the following cities in the State of Ohio: Chillicothe, Eastern (St. Clairsville, OH), Lancaster, Southern (Ironton, OH), and Zanesville.

Applications will be accepted into the School of Nursing Adjunct Clinical Faculty (Southern Campus) pool to fill positions as needs arise. This is a POOL posting accepting applications on a rolling basis for adjunct clinical positions that become available beginning spring semester 2026.

These positions will have responsibilities that require the applicant to be on campus in Ironton, OH, or on-site at clinical placement facilities which could be in Ironton, OH, Portsmouth, OH, Ashland, KY, and/or Huntington, WV. These positions are NOT remote teaching positions, and multiple positions may be available.

Job Description

The Ohio University School of Nursing Southern Campus seeks adjunct clinical focus faculty candidates with an emphasis on teaching clinical competencies with Associate and Bachelor Degree Nursing students. These positions are term positions and will be filled as needs arise for the Southern campus.

Faculty are expected to plan, implement, and evaluate instruction for student clinical and lab experiences. These individuals will provide instruction, supervision, guidance, and counsel to nursing students in collaboration with and under the direction of the course lead(s) in relation to nursing program objectives and will include (1) planning student learning experiences; (2) evaluating student progress; (3) recording and reporting as required by the School of Nursing.

Clinical sites are located in the following areas:

Ashland, KY

Portsmouth, OH

Ironton, OH

Huntington, WV

Seeking experience in: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Community Nursing, Obstetric Nursing, Mental Health Nursing

The need for these positions is dependent on operational need including enrollment and staffing. If a need arises, the department will select candidates from this posting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing by the time of appointment.

At least two years (24 months full time equivalent) of relevant clinical nursing experience in the United States is required.

A current unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or a current unencumbered RN license from a compact state, or the eligibility to obtain by the time of appointment is required.

Additionally, a current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state in which the clinical is conducted if outside the state of Ohio is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing.
