Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Columbus, Ohio

This opportunity offers a rewarding role in nursing within a critical illness and rehabilitation environment in Columbus, OH. The position is a contract assignment suited for a Registered Nurse skilled in providing compassionate, patient-centered care that supports recovery and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities include conducting thorough nursing assessments within eight hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans. You will collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify patient education needs and goals. Providing timely updates during team conferences, documenting all care interactions accurately, and participating actively in the patient rehabilitation program are essential duties. You will also initiate discharge planning from admission, ensuring smooth transitions and patient education for post-discharge care.
Key responsibilities comprise
- Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and planning care accordingly.
- Ensuring accurate, timely documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
- Promoting patient and employee safety through adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Communicating clinical changes effectively among the healthcare team to support continuity of care.
- Delegating tasks appropriately and providing supervision and support to ancillary staff.
- Maintaining an efficient, positive, and safe work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Participating in ongoing professional development to maintain competency.
