Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Elyria, Ohio

A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with surgical skills, especially proficient in scrubbing and operating the Da Vinci XI system. This contract position is based in Elyria, OH, with primary responsibility in a mixed inpatient/outpatient operating room setting. The role also involves occasional floating to the main OR department as needed, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert surgical nursing care in a seven-room inpatient/outpatient operating unit.
• Perform scrubbing duties and assist with posterior eye surgeries and eye trauma cases.
• Operate and support robotic-assisted surgeries utilizing the Da Vinci XI system.
• Float to the main operating room (26 rooms) as needed to manage caseloads efficiently.
• Fulfill two weekend call shifts and six weekday shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:45 PM within a six-week schedule, with no additional weekend requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Active RN license.
• Proficiency in surgical nursing with strong scrubbing experience.
• Experience operating the Da Vinci XI robot is essential.
• Comfort working in a Level One Trauma center setting.
• Ability to respond flexibly to floating assignments between different operating units.
• Skilled in managing both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures.
