ICU RN - Dayton, Ohio

Critical care registered nurses play a vital role in managing patients facing severe medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, respiratory distress, and trauma. In this contract position based in Dayton, OH, the nurse will deliver expert care within an intensive care unit setting, ensuring patient safety and supporting recovery through skilled assessment and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to critical needs
• Administer advanced life support, intravenous fluids, medications, and wound care
• Monitor vital signs and adjust ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and other life-support equipment
• Assist physicians with procedures and respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established nursing protocols
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary critical care teams to provide holistic patient management
• Act as a patient advocate and provide education and emotional support to families
• Support pre-operative and post-operative care with attention to detail and patient safety
• Participate in administrative duties and case management responsibilities as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Recent experience in long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) settings, including tracheostomy and ventilator care
• Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications
• Valid Ohio RN license or a multi-state RN license
• Critical care experience within ICU settings preferred
• Competency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
