Medical-Surgical RN in Lorain, OH

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical Telemetry to support a renowned healthcare campus. This contract position offers a focused role on a med/surg telemetry unit as part of a highly respected nursing team.

Lorain, Ohio situated within reach of a major metropolitan area, Lorain offers a balance of urban amenities and scenic lakefront views. The area has a rich industrial history and is known for its welcoming communities and access to outdoor recreation ranging from parks to beaches along Lake Erie.

Schedule/Hours

• Rotating day/night shifts with a 3x12-hour schedule (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
• Shift variability may be required to meet operational needs
• Night shift preferred: 7:00pm to 7:30am, 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in medical-surgical telemetry nursing prior to assignment
• Recent medical-surgical/telemetry experience within the last 18 months (travel experience is acceptable)
• Valid Ohio nursing license or current compact license from an eligible state
• Certifications current for BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Ability to work at least every other holiday
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation

• Provide skilled nursing care for patients with medical-surgical telemetry needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to abnormalities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Participate in orientation assessments and comply with hospital documentation requirements through digital platforms
