Stepdown Registered Nurse - Medina, Ohio

Provide specialized nursing care in a cardiac stepdown unit supporting patients who require close monitoring and advanced clinical skills. This role involves delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment dedicated to cardiac and progressive care.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of permanent nursing experience in cardiac stepdown or a closely related specialty
• Current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license eligible for Ohio practice
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
• Prior travel nursing experience on a cardiac stepdown or PCU/progressive care unit strongly preferred
• Strong ECG rhythm recognition skills; completion of competency assessments during orientation required
• Willingness to work night shifts with rotating schedules, including at least every other holiday

Schedule/Hours

• Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour rotations (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
• Shifts may vary depending on hospital needs, with flexibility to rotate between day and night as necessary

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cardiac patients requiring stepdown care with precision and clinical expertise
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform ECG rhythm assessments and administer medications safely and accurately
• Maintain compliance with hospital standards, policies, and protocols
• Utilize electronic systems to document hours and patient care activities accurately
