Stepdown Registered Nurse - Mentor, Ohio

An opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse with focused experience in cardiac stepdown care. This role involves providing specialized nursing support within a busy stepdown unit that demands clinical expertise and excellent patient management capabilities. The position offers a contract engagement with a well-respected healthcare facility, located in Mentor, Ohio.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months permanent nursing experience in cardiac stepdown or related specialty prior to travel assignment.
• Recent, relevant travel nursing experience in cardiac stepdown required.
• Progressive care or PCU experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Hold a current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license accepted in Ohio.
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Ability to work at least every other holiday during the contract period.
• Successful completion of competency tests including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality cardiac stepdown nursing care under variable shifts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and well-being.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with clinical protocols.
• Participate in mandatory assessments and maintain certification compliance.

Schedule

• Rotating 12-hour shifts, with core hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Flexibility to accommodate operational needs of the hospital.
