Stepdown RN - Lorain, Ohio

A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with stepdown experience to provide specialized cardiac care in a dynamic hospital setting. This role involves working primarily on a cardiac stepdown unit that requires strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to rotating shifts. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated expertise caring for patients requiring progressive cardiac support and be comfortable managing complex cases in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in a cardiac stepdown or progressive care unit prior to travel assignment
• Valid Ohio nursing license or compact state license
• American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication administration (assessments provided during orientation)
• Ability to work at least every other holiday
• Prior travel experience in cardiac stepdown care preferred but not required

Schedule/Hours

• Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.)
• D/N rotating shifts as needed to meet operational demands

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered cardiac care within the stepdown unit
• Monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythms closely, responding promptly to changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required assessments during orientation
• Utilize electronic systems for submitting hours worked
