Shift: Monday-Friday, varying shifts 8am-8pm

Summary

Assumes responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients, infant through adult, under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in a patient care area. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN license. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

Required: Graduate of an approved School of Practical Nursing Currently licensed by the State of Ohio, which includes certification to pass medications At least one year of experience in an acute care setting and/or long term care (skilled nursing), or one year experience in an out-patient setting/ambulatory practice / clinic. Fluency in writing, speaking, and interpreting both English and another designated foreign language. Obtains a score of “high intermediate” or better on the pre-employment language proficiency test. Proficient with performing venipuncture and blood specimen collection. Current American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire. Ability to multi-task by managing/working EPIC In-basket, monitoring and directing patient flow, and providing patient care in a coordinated manner at the completion of the orientation period. Reliable transportation to travel between facilities if needed. Basic computer skills. Preferred: Prior experience in Obstetrics and/or PediatricsPhysical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals. Physical Demands:
