ICU RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio healthcare jobs
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Setting: Critical Care Float Pool (ICU nursing jobs)
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 6, 2026
Duration: 13-week nursing contract
Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-Hour Shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week
Weekend Coverage: Required (minimum every other weekend)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission)
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
Skilled in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Two professional references required (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership role)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ICU RN Responsibilities

Float between Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU as needed
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with critical and complex conditions
Initiate and maintain IVs, manage telemetry, and oversee ventilator management
Administer emergency medications and blood products
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias
Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy
Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
Accurately document patient care using the EPIC system
