Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to patient needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans efficiently.
• Perform ECG rhythm recognition and ensure safe medication administration.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and participate in competency assessments including safeMedicate.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit hours worked through designated systems.
• Flexibly work rotating shifts covering days and nights as operational needs require, ensuring consistent patient care coverage.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current Ohio permanent nursing license or a Compact State nursing license in hand.
• Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in cardiac stepdown or progressive care nursing, including recent experience in a similar specialty.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale.
• Competence in rhythm recognition and medication safety.
• Ability to work every other holiday.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Schedule

• 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week.
• Rotating day and night shifts (7 pm to 7:30 am and 7 am to 7:30 pm), with shift flexibility as needed to meet hospital operational requirements.
