Medical Surgical Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Location: Columbus, OH

Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts – Days or Nights

Shift: Day (07:00 – 19:30) or Night (19:00 – 07:30)

Pay Range: $2,300.40 weekly

Overview:Position Summary:We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a mixed-acuity Med-Surg/Telemetry unit caring for patients with head & neck cancers, neuro-oncology diagnoses, and post-surgical needs. This is a great opportunity to work in a teaching hospital environment with a strong interdisciplinary support team. Nurses on this unit often care for patients requiring tracheostomy management and close cardiac monitoring.Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients.

Monitor and interpret telemetry data and manage dysrhythmias.

Manage patients with tracheostomies, drains (JP, Hemovac), and IVs.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers.

Float to other Med-Surg Oncology units as needed.

Participate in infection control and fall prevention initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience: 2 years RN experience

Travel Experience: Preferred but not required

Charting Experience: Epic (Required)

Certifications

Required: BLS

Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, OCN

Skills

Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation

Tracheostomy care (suctioning, cannula changes)

IV starts

Chemotherapy administration (preferred)
