Travel Nursing Job Details Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN contract) Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 Unit: Corrections Health Unit – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026) Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00–19:30, Nights: 19:00–07:30); may include days, nights, or a combination Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940–$1990 Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics, including corrections inmates Systems Used: EPIC (electronic health records), Pyxis (medication management) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio state RN license) Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience Proficiency with EPIC charting system BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references (including one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after contract signing Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required Registered Nurse Responsibilities Float between Oncology and Medical-Surgical units as needed Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a locked corrections unit Monitor and manage patients with oncology diagnoses, post-operative care, and non-oncology conditions (COPD, sepsis, abnormal labs, pneumonia, etc.) Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring Administer IV therapies, blood products, and manage central/peripheral lines and PICC lines Provide care for patients requiring feeding tubes, tracheostomy management, and respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, and rapid response teams Ensure staff safety and maintain compliance with corrections unit protocols Apply now to join our supportive healthcare team in Columbus, Ohio and make a meaningful impact in corrections nursing.
